David Bornstein

David Bornstein gave an interesting forum that is inspiring for any young journalist. I enjoyed hearing Bornstein talk about his career, and the way that he viewed journalism. He talked about the adventures of his life, and how journalism was intertwined in everything that he became. He attended school at NYU leading him into writing in the New York media, what an awesome opportunity to be able to work in the media capital of the world. He spoke about the way the he observed the world and thought about things from different perspectives. It was enlightening to be able to hear him speak about the importance of becoming a lifelong learner, not just becoming a journalist. He said that was one of the main things that attracted him to a career in journalism. He would be able to learn something new every day. It is true, great journalists are seeking to learn something new every day. They seek to uncover facts and make connections that no one else has ever made before. Journalists can then use those facts and connects to empower the people. Bornstein is not only a great journalist, but much more. He seemed to be a powerful person who has strong beliefs, and a desire to make the world a better place. In the long run, that desire will do more to impact the world through journalism than a desire to be a great journalist will.
